Artist Statement
This “steam roller printed”, 32″ by 60″ woodblock print was created during “Really Big Prints” in July 2025. It was an opportunity to surpass the limitation of a standard press size.
My art making has always been influenced by surroundings. While living in Alaska, I found myself in awe of nature. After returning to my home state of Michigan, that sense of place shifted; farms, fields, and ecosystems became my focus.
I have long been inspired by Carl Sagan’s “Pale Blue Dot” commentary; “The Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena.” Climate change, watersheds, natural resources, pollination, and population are all part of our “small stage”. “No Farms, No Food” illustrates what we still can have. However, there is disconnect between what earth can produce and how healthy choices for all communities can be accessed.

Jessie Blume Bags
I am so lucky to know Jessie! We met at the Peace Center Alternative Holiday Show in East Lansing. She uses my pattern design “Michigan Lace” in green and blue for some of her handmade cross body bags.
Her bags are functional and easy to use. They are made with genuine leather (top grain cowhide) and can be worn as a fanny pack/hip bag or shoulder purse with a strap which extends to approximately 51 inches.
Intoducing a guided journal to help stay in a grateful state of mind. It features Wendy Shaft’s Bees and Flowers design on the cover as well as inside.
Copies are available at Limner Press, 133 West Grand River, Williamston, MI. Cost: $12.50 or click the link below to purchase on Amazon.
